Keeping the Kids Entertained This Summer

Are we there yet? How much longer? I’m soooo bored!!!! Sound familiar? Summer can be magical for kids and about three weeks into summer vacation, things might start looking a little less so. After they are all caught up on their sleep, they are looking for things to do. Living in TidalWalk offers so many unique area activities that tedium may have met its match.

Here are some “boredom busters” to consider (in no apparent order):

  1. Geocaching – did you know that there are 100’s of active geocaches to discover in the Wilmington Area (and world-wide)? You’ll create amazing memories when you get out and start searching for hidden riches. Find out how your family can get in on the treasure hunt fun.
  2. Two words. Day Camps.
  3. Cool off at the Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park. Choose from a lazy river tubing ride, The Million Gallon Wave pool, or jump on one of the parks water slides.
  4. Do a quick search on the NC Departments of Cultural Resources web page. There is a TON of stuff to plan your day around!
  5. If you are looking for day-to-day art activities to keep little fingers busy, check out the TidalWalk Boredom Busters Board on Pinterest.
