Living in the south has it blessings and challenges. Severe weather like hurricanes and tornadoes are something we monitor with a worried eye and sometimes we do have to batten down the hatches for a storm system that is headed our way.

That being said, September is National Preparedness Month and we wondered how prepared you’d be in the event of a disaster or emergency.

Back in February of 2003, FEMA created a great resource called Ready which is a national public service advertising (PSA) campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to emergencies including natural and man-made disasters.

The goal of the campaign is to get the public involved and ultimately to increase the level of basic preparedness across the nation by being an active participant in the planning of your safety.
